Kondangan (My Best Friend's Wedding)

Smalem salah seorang best buddy gue got married di Bandung. Scara ga ada yg bsa gue ajak buat nemenin gue, akhirnya gue ciao aja sndiri ke Bandung, nyetir. Uda biasa sih pergi ke Bandung naek mobil, tapi biasanya kan rame2, jarang sndirian. Nyak uda marah2 aja gue mo cabs sndirian. "Mnta temenin sapa kek?" Gue jawab smuanya pada sibuk, malahan temen2 gue yg laen pada bilang ke gue, "Loe aja yg jadi wakil2 kita yahh... Kita smua pada ga bsa." Monyong, emangnya gue ga ada krjaan apa? Emang sih wiken ini gue lagi kosyong, dan kbtulan gue uda niat bgt pergi -- soalnya he's my best buddy.

Uda gitu best buddy gue sblon merit smpt dateng ke Jkt, sngaja nemuin gue, en ngundang gue ke kawinannya. "Please ya, Han. Dateng donks. You're my buddy."

Nyak marah2 soalnya gue cabs sndirian, sdangkan dia ga kuasa nahan gue. Soalnya dia sndiri ada acara. Awalnya dia mo batalin acara dia, trus pergi sama gue. Adoohh, males bgt dehh gue dengerin dia cuap2 di kuping gue, "Kamu kapan kawinnya? Kalo gini kan biar bsa dtemenin suami!"

Enyway, gue ciao jam 3 sore dari Jakarta. Surprisingly, ga trlalu macet. Malahan yg macet di Bandungnya. Sejam gue mandek di daerah Buah Batu, soalnya gue mo mampir ke rmh ua gue dulu buat mandi, solat, en ganti baju sgala. Buseet, masa jam 6 baru nyampe. MACET bgt Bandung skrg... Uda gitu isinya mobil2 Jakarta smua. Yeehehehee...

Jam 7 gue cabs lagi dari rmh ua gue mnuju ke Jl. Aceh. Gue ga trlalu kenal daerah Bandung, dan gue ngandelin peta dari undangan doanks. Nyasar2 bntar, nanya arah2, akhirnya gue nyampe juga ke gedung kawinannya. Sbenernya gue lbh seneng kalo bsa dateng siang2 dan langsung ke gereja tmpt dia merit daripada ke resepsinya, tapi siang kmrn gue baru bangun jam brapa tau dehh. Abis ngerapiin make up di mobil di parkiran, baru dehh gue masuk. Itu uda jam 8 malem lebih.

Duile, kok rasanya pada ngeliatin gue ya? Apa krn baju gue aneh? Apa rambut gue aneh? Padahal uda nyalon lho, sama luluran sgala  Apa krn gue dateng sndirian dg cueknya? Wahaha, emangnya gue pikirin. Pokoknya langsung ngantri buat salaman. Gue seneng dg interior resepsinya, panggungnya gede bgt trus ada ensemble orchestra music classic lengkap dg konduktornya dan cello serta biola. Pengantin cewe pake baju dress putih, lengkap pake veil tipis, uda kaya Barbie Bride gitu. Gue pikir mereka bakalan pake adat Cina atau gimana, tapi mereka pake modern style gitu. Gue ga nemu warna merah, adanya warna ijo putih dan silver...klasik bgt. Dan gue dkasi buku notes coklat dg bungkus poutpourri.

Naek panggung, stelah sikut2an sama tamu2 laen yg nyerobot antrian gue, akhirnya gue salaman ama best buddy gue. Dia super kaget liat gue. "OMYGOD, HAN! I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU COULDN'T COME!"

Gue cuman nyengir aja. "Surprise. Congratulations ya!" Adooh I was so happy for him. He looked handsome gitu pake tuxedo, kliatan dewasa bgt. Biasanya kan dia ngejeans doanks, dan dia di bawah gue gitu umurnya.

"Sama sapa Han?" Tanya dia sambil meluk gue erat2.

"Gue sndirian aja, langsung lho dari Jakarta." Kata gue. Dia kagets bgt trus ketawa2. Ah, he looked so happy. Many happy returns for him.

Gue ga mo lama2 lahh dsana, masa cengo ga jelas. Lagipula gue msti nglawan arus balik ke Jakarta. Males gue nginep sgala di Bandung, walopun sbenernya gue bsa. Cuman gue ada acara padat di hari Minggu so gue mndingan cabs aja langsung. Stelah basa-basi sama bbrapa tamu yg gue kenal tapi ga trlalu taw, gue langsung cabs. Gue males ganti baju, jadi gue nyupir masi pake gaun gue en spatu hak tinggi (gue lepas, soalnya gue ga prnah nyetir pake spatu). Jalanan agak macet, cuman ga trlalu musingin. UNTUUUUNG, gue tuh pnjem mobil sodara gue -- jadi mobilnya kbtulan ada TVnya. Gue sambil ntn DVD gitu dehh kalo lagi pas macet.

Nyampe Jkt skitar jam 11 malem, krn laper gue mampir dulu di McDonald Pondok Indah Plaza Drive Through. Bener kan, si mas2 yg ngelayanin pesanan pake nanya2 sgala: "Abis dari kondangan ya?" Well, akhirnya gue nyampe rmh jam 12 teng bak Cinderella yg uda hrs nyampe rmh pas tengah malem. Bedanya, yg gue bawa ke rmh bukan spatu kaca, tapi sbungkus French Fries and Fillet O'Fish serta cape stelah 9 jam nyetir. What a night

Opini gue adalah, blogging itu bukan suatu copyright work. Kadang2 kita juga suka copy paste suatu artikel, atau blog seseorang utk ngasi taw mngenai topik yg sedang hangat2nya. Kaya dari Wikipedia, sapa sih yg ga prnah ngutip? Apa itu merupakan suatu plagiarism? Plagiarism adalah kalo kita mnjiplak sesuatu utk mncari keuntungan. Sjauh ini, masyarakat dunia ngeblogging stiap detiknya tanpa mncari keuntungan. I won't say that far about plagiarism.

Tapi gue smpet nemu puisi gue ada di myspace seseorang. Apa brarti dia ngejiplak puisi gue? Scara puisi gue cuman ecek2, gue ga trlalu masalahin. Mungkin dia cuman kepengen naro puisi gue di myspace, so gue biarin aja. Toh kita juga sering naro puisi2 org di blog kita. Tapi lain halnya bila suatu hari gue nemuin puisi gue tiba2 mnjadi copyright dan hak milik seseorang, dan org yg ngejiplak itu mndapatkan keuntungan. Baru lah gue repot.

Kung Fu Panda

Bwahahahaha! Baru kali ini gue ktawa ngakak sampe ga bsa napas nonton animasi kartun di bioskop (bukan Disney pula!). Gue awalnya punya low expectation waktu ntn ni film, krn 1). Bukan Pixar, 2). Dibikin oleh Dreamworks (not a fan, sowry). Ga nyangka gue bsa ktawa en bener2 puas nonton film ini, padahal filmnya cuman sbntar. Kayaknya masih kurang...mudah2an ada sequelnya.

Scara animasi komputer, Kungfu Panda uda menuhin target. Animasinya bener2 halus dan indah, gerakan2nya juga lbh natural. Mungkin udah stingkat Pixar. Apalagi film ini juga nyampur2 animasi tradisional, uda mrupakan plus. Adegan2 actionnya ngalir spt beneran, apalagi gunain teknik kungfu beneran. Voice castingnya juga oke, gue salut sama Jack Black yg emang bsa nguasain komedi. Musik backgroundnya juga keren, dbikin oleh komposer Hans Zimmer yg terkenal, bsa nangkep esensi Cina dan kungfu.

Ada satu adegan yg bikin gue ktawa ngakak dan ga brhenti sampe 5 menit, bahkan pas adegannya uda selesai, gue msh aja ketawa sampe brusaha nutup mulut gue. Asli, gue ga bsa brenti ktawa, temen gue sampe meluk gue supaya gue brenti ktawa. Akhirnya gue ktawa tanpa suara, cuman badan gue sampe trguncang2 dan air mata sampe kluar. Alhasil gue sampe pusing 5 menit kmudian. Adegan tsb ga bsa gue critain, mndingan ntn aja sndiri.

Bener2 gue rekomen abis, jgn beli DVDnya dulu, mndingan ntn di bioskop krn pngalamannya beda bgt. Baru dehh beli DVDnya kalo gambarnya uda bagusan. Nonton film ini ngingetin gue kaya film 'Kung Fu Hustle', dan jalan critanya juga hampir sama lahh.

Yg lucu waktu gue lagi ntn sama temen gue, pas kita baru duduk dan lampu dimatiin, temen gue yg ga tau kita ntn apaan langsung nanya, "Lho, Han. Ini film kartun??? Kirain film Kung Fu kaya Crouching Tiger, Hidden Panda!"

One of the best series ever! Gue baru suka sama ni seri agak2 lambat, kira2 baru skitar episode ke 4 ke atas dehh gue baru sadar kalo ini series keren banget. Awal2nya nonton, gue agak2 sangsi dan sdikit bored krn mereka sdang build-up serinya. Tapi bgitu uda mulai tengah2, nahhh! Wah wah wah, keren!

Torchwood itu spinoff dari seri Dr. Who, seri sci-fi dan fantasy yg uda lama. Gue terus terang aja penggemar Dr. Who, walo hanya kadang2 nonton serinya juga. Tapi gue suka bgt sama Torchwood krn tokoh2nya yg padat dan ada perkembangan karakter. Critanya kbanyakan Sci-Fi dan fantasy. Anggep kaya nonton Supernatural dan Buffy di sisi horor fantasynya, dan Star Trek serta Firefly di sisi sci-finya, dan full drama serta action.

Kadang2 serem sih walo agak2 cheesy. Tapi akting para aktornya emang keren2. Dan SUPER GANTENG pemeran utamanya, Captain Jack Harkness diperankan oleh John Barrowman, kaya perpanduan antara Indiana Jones dg Captain Picard. Penuh wibawa tapi super santai.



Oh ya, seri ini yg pasti buat dewasa bgt. Dan ga smua org suka ntn seri ini karena ini seri British dari BBC Channel. Banyak yg complain ke gue bahwa mereka ga ngerti aksen Inggris mereka. Padahal Captain Jack aksennya org Amrik lho. Dan juga Captain Jack itu bisex, jadi kalo ada yg ga comfortable ama love story antara sesama mndingan hindari aja.

Torchwood itu organisasi rahasia spt Men In Black dan X-Files yg tugasnya nangkepin alien2 jahat (dan hal2 brsifat supernatural) dan mempergunakan teknologi alien utk menjaga prdamaian bumi. Seru dan dramatis, gue rekomen ke sesama penggemar atau fans sci-fi utk enjoy seri ini.

Life is like a box of crap...er, chocolates

Life... is like a box of chocolates.

A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf-down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers...

Just living is not enough... One must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower. I arise in the morning between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.

Sometimes the only sane answer to an insane world is insanity... I hope life isn't a big joke, because I don't get it.

I was first struck by the absence of time, having dependen on it so completely as a measure of my self and my life; moving backwards into the perpetual night it consumes purpose, indeed, all passion and will. We're looking through a telescope, searching the stars for the answer, when the answer is actually a speck of dirt on the telescope lens.

At This Point In My Life

I've done so many things wrong, I don't know if I can do right. If you put your trust in me, I hope I won't let you down. If you give me a chance, I'll try. Dark Side of the Moon

Society rot and this mess of a world will perish.

There isn't any love. Not simple love. Love is based upon life and events and I have no place in this life, nor in the events that are besetting it. Strangely enough, I do not feel tearful. I don't feel anything except maybe a hollowness. Or cheated. But not by anyone nor by anything. Cheated by life and by my dreams. In the face of unexpected, love is meaningless.

Love is always selfish - unless that love can be all embracing. I am just another bystander, another member of the general public witnessing the private suffering of a society to which I don't belong. The tears of suffering and the strained, shaken voices of tension and fear are the same whatever story they may be telling. The routine enquiries; the wearisome, unflagging diligence of people, the sniffing out of any juicy details to add spice to a tired old dish that was already stale to the jaded palate of an over indulged society.

It seems that sensation dulls quickly and must be constantly increased and heightened in order to make its effect felt. If all sensation was momentarily removed from a body, what would be the result? Is death, in part, the ceasing of sensation? Where is the seat of sensation? In the body or in the mind? Is pain reality - or an idea only to be in mind?

Pain can lead an expert to discover a malfunction in the body. In the case of a body already racked with pain, will an increase of pain ever be noticed? Does the mind become numb and unable to respond? Does the mind die before the body, leaving it to twitch into quiescence a few moments later? Is there a moment at which a sensation-seeking society reaches its fill and sensation ceases to be effectual in a surfeited mind?

Silent night, one endless dark.

Like people, each of stars in the sky is a person, living out her own span, under her own conditions, in her own time. How marvellous, if we could only see it. How monstrous, that we can't. Maybe, somewhere out there, is that great big mission control in the sky; directing our course, telling us when to eat, and when to sleep and when to prepare to die.

Strange names from another world; our world; hopelessly inadequate, wildy inept. Why do we do that? Like television to the Dayak and refrigerators to the Eskimo. Dream is as dead as the rest of it. Just a big lump of dust forever tied to the universe.

Gone. Going WHERE?

If zero and infinity are equal illusions, where is there to go? Maybe I have gone somewhere. I'm flying round the dark side of the moon - out of sight and of all that is familiar. It's not unlike being asleep... Or dead.

Forgive me.

I am the symbol of my age. I am the personification of the works of human being. I am the final outcome of the technocracy that we worship. Through me we are reaching beyond the bounds of human probability. Don't get me wrong... I know that I would be nowhere without the science of scientists and the computer programs of the technocrats. I am needed to experience and having experienced, to express. I am needed to color the picture. Machine cannot do that, because the machine doesn't feel.

Whoever heard of a machine that was afraid of the dark? My strenght is that I am; because in that one fear is the whole universe. That vast unknown, unknownable that encompasses us and is at the heart of us.

Forgive me.

I am in space - a term that we use to describe the indescribable state of dimensionless, timeless, placeless NOTHING that surrounds us. If one is at the point of death, would you have one tell you how one's heart is pumping; or would you have one whisper nothings from across the gulf, where one has glimpsed and you have not? To understand the mystery of death, look up at the stars on a clear night... To understand the mystery of eternal space, watch a sleeping kitten...

Who put me together?

Don't give me that bilge about eggs and sperm. Who put me together; or the cat or the rat or the bat or the good red herring? We don't know NOTHING. Where are we going? NOWHERE. Space is nowhere; nothing, void. What are we playing at?

Do you ever wish you were dead, or that you had never been born? I did. Because I couldn't bear the responsibility of living.

The dark side of the moon...like my life. A mysterious world, full of doubts, hedging off my view of the world, cutting me off from my own identity. I am a body that allowed to sink into the deepest sea. I am the only earth that is this side of nowhere. I am a body with a mind that is telling me that I am a body. A mind that can create my late dad, so that he stands before me and smiles and nod. Without effort he can be made to frown and shake his head; smile and nod, and so on.

If I close my eyes - I can dream about my parents. I can dream 'someone' my first love, I can dream Pouss my blind cat and my surrogate father. I can dream sakura trees in blossom and Cleveland downtown rising out of the early morning haze like a vision. I can dream...

It's a bit like learning to walk, or to swim, or to fly. Why am I doing it? What am I doing it for? The fame, the glory and the money? Or because it's here to be done? Is that why we do everything? There are first times... The first time we do something the moment when that thing comes into existence? Was there a creator before the creation? Was there God before man dreamed Him? The chicken or the egg?

What a dream.

A floating dream. A place to live. Don't let me ever spoil it. Don't let me speak or act. Don't let me ever wake up.

Forgive me for not being able to fit into the pattern. Forgive me for failing; for not finishing the game. Did you only survive for as long as the idea of survival existed and after that there would be no mind left to ask the questions... No mind. No ideas, then?

Where do we go in our dreams? Who is it who goes there? Whereever and whoever, the body is still lying on the bed, at home, wrapped in blankets, deep in sleep. I am not this body. It's no use you all screaming at me to speak. I can't. Because I'm not here. I'm not this body.

How can space contain love? It is good place to start from - and to come back to. It is all there is. Space. Space within the heart. Society is rot and will perish. I am not sure I'll be witnessing that.

I'm...not sure what I am.
I just know there's something dark in me.
I hide it.
I certainly don't talk about it.
But, it's there, always, this dark passenger.
And when he's driving, I feel...alive.
Half-sick with the thrill, the complete wrongness.
I don't fight him.

He's all I've got.
Nothin' else could love me, not even...especially not me.
Or is that just a lie the dark passenger tells me?
Because lately, there are these moments when I feel...connected...to something else.

Sbenernya gue ga mo ntn film ini. Gue jarang bgt ntn film chick-flick di bioskop, mndingan di dvd aja. Soalnya kan suka simpang siur britanya; ada yg bilang jelek ada yg bilang bagus. Kalo uda bgitu ya mndingan ntn aja. Akhirnya ntn bareng tante gue. Surprisingly, filmnya lumayan. Patrick Dempsey punya knack utk film2 tipe bginian kaya "Enchanted". Dan kali ini dia bsa charming lahh. Michelle Monaghan ga trlalu mnarik di film ini, kaya anduk basah bgt. Yg nyelametin film ini cuman si Dempsey doanks.

Pada dasarnya ya "My Best Friend's Wedding" lebih lucu dan lbh bagus. Film ini kbanyakan klisenya lahh, tapi cukup mnghibur. Yg mo ntn bareng temen2 cewe dan pacarnya, silahkan aja.

Btw, gue smpt brantem sama tante gue soal judulnya. Kan sharusnya yg bener "MAID OF HONOR" kata tante gue. Emang bener, soalnya kan artinya 'pengiring pengantin'. Tapi "MADE OF HONOR" artinya dsini adalah 'terbuat dari wibawa' (sgitu lah kira2) krn tokoh utamanya suka bo'ong sama diri sndiri dan bo'ong sama sahabatnya krn dia trlalu pride utk ngasi taw feelingnya. Hence the title, emang sngaja judulnya dtulis kaya gitu. Baru dehh tante gue diem gue jelasin, huehehe.

Gue kecele ntn film ini di bioskop: uda mahal soalnya pas wiken, bareng sama temen gue pula kan kasian. Gara2 trailernya gue pikir lucu. Tumben, Han, kok bsa kecele? pdhl biasanya ga prnah brbuat ksalahan macam gini, huehehe. Biasanya kan gue slalu baca review dan rating dulu. Kalo uda ada indikasi filmnya jelek, mndingan gue nunggu dvdnya aja.

Singkatnya, ini kaya Bourne Identity versi komedinya. Gue biasanya suka sama Cedric the Entertainer, cuman ga taw knaps kok sumpah ni film KAGA lucu sama skali. Oke, skali2 ada adegan yg bikin cekikikan, tapi ya abis itu udah. Yg anehnya lagi, satu bioskop GA ADA yg ketawa. Makanya aneh, nonton film komedi kok sepi banget?

Makin aneh lagi, gue sampe ketiduran nonton ini di bioskop. Sbenernya kalo film jelek, gue pasti kluar dari bioskop. Cuman ga enak sama temen gue, akhirnya gue sabar aja.... alias ngantuk. Temen gue ngebangunin gue pas filmnya kelar.

Asli, gue dicela2 nonton reality show ini. "Ihhh, ngapain segh nonton bginian? Duuh, Han, ini kan bo'ongan! Han, gue pikir selera loe lbh baek dari ini!" Dan laen sbagainya. Well, screw you guys. Huahaha. Gue ktagihan nonton ni reality show, justru bukan dari segi hantu2an atau horornya. Tapi dari segi dramanya.

Ghost Hunters adalah reality show ttg para pemburu hantu dari Amrik (anggep kaya versi Amerikanya 'Berburu Hantu') dan premise dari show ini adalah nemuin tmpat2 yg kata org berhantu, dan brusaha memberikan faktanya kalo hantu tsb ga ada. Kalo versi Indonesia lbh condong ke segi paranormal dan mistik, kalo versi Amerika ini lbh condong ke segi ilmiah. Mereka brusaha membuktikan bahwa suatu tmpat yg dianggap angker, belum tentu ada hantunya. Kadang2 di suatu episode, mereka berhasil DEBUNK atau memecahkan misteri tsb dan membuka kedok org2 yg mengaku bahwa tmpt mereka dihantui.

Apakah temuan2 mereka itu asli atau bukan? Pada dasarnya gue ga trlalu peduli mereka nemuin hantu apa enggak, walopun bila di suatu episode mereka menemukan aktivitas paranormal, itu uda mrupakan suatu bonus. Yang seru adalah nonton para pemburu hantu tersebut. Spt layaknya reality show, uda pasti ada tokoh2 yg menarik. Justru itu adalah daya tariknya seri ini. Bedanya sama versi Indonesia yg lbh banyak mnarik sensasi dan mistiknya dan maunya nakut2in pemirsa, GHOST HUNTERS lbh banyak drama dari para pemburu ini.

Para pemburu hantu ini kalo siang kerjanya sebagai tukang ledeng (halahh!), dan ada yg dari brbagai macam profesi. Ada yg bekas tentara, ada yg bekas polisi, ada yg sekretaris dan ibu rmh tangga, dll. Malemnya mereka berburu hantu (halahh!) dg menggunakan peralatan teknologi canggih (taela!) spt kamera infra merah, kamera heat, audio EVP, Elektromagnetic Power, monitor, dll. Mereka masuk ke tempat2 yg katanya ada hantunya, dan brusaha membuktikan tmpt tsb berhantu atau tidak. Kadang2 mereka nemu yg ada hantunya, tapi kebanyakan enggak. Kbanyakan klien mereka cuman nyari sensasi dan manggil mereka supaya tmpt mereka trkenal. Tapi grup tsb membuktikan bahwa gak ada hantu.



Nama grup GHOST HUNTERS ini adalah TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) dan sdh cukup trkenal di amrik. Yg bikin gue seneng ntn reality show ini adalah mereka memusatkan kepada segi cerita hidup para pemburu hantu tsb.

JASON (Jay): ketua TAPS. Ini uda botak, galak pula. Kerjaannya suka maki2 anak buahnya. Dan orgnya skeptik bgt. Walopun liat jelas2 ada hantu di depan muka dia, dia pasti ngomong, "Bah, palsu tuh!"

GRANT: wakil ketua TAPS. Ini org walo uda bapak2, agak2 ganteng gitu loh, hehehe. Dan dia yg kayaknya sabar banget sama anak buahnya. Kadang2 para anak buahnya suka curhat sama dia.

DONNA: asisten TAPS. Ini cewe cantik tapi penakut banget. Kerjaannya curhat sama Grant. Gue suka mikir, jgn2 selingkuh? Soalnya Grant uda merit.

BRIAN: bekas anggota TAPS. ASLI ini cowo NYEBELIN banget! Pengen gue gampar! Mulutnya congor banget dan sok tau. Cowo ini sering banget dimaki2 sama Jason, soalnya kalo kerja ga kompeten bgt, suka bolos, suka nyari2 alasan, dan peralatan2 TAPS yg mahal suka rusak atau ilang kalo dpegang dia. Uda gitu sering banget brantem sama anak2 buah yg laen. Dan dia yg paling trkenal krn waktu itu pernah bertemu muka sama hantu, dia langsung ngibrit dan tereak2, "DUDE, RUN!!!!".

STEVE: Manager Tech alias yg ngontrol peralatan. Stelah Brian dpecat dari TAPS, Steve yg pegang komando. Gue cuman bsa bilang, ini org cool abis. Kalo ngomong sopan dan pelan, tapi cekatan dan bad ass. Waktu mereka ke NYC, ada copet yg ngambil laptop mereka, si Steve langsung ngejar si copet di jalanan. Barangnya selamat. Copetnya ngilang. Tapi sayangnya dia suka takut sama laba2. Waduh...

DUSTIN: penyelidik. Dustin itu walopun cowo baek, cuman agak2 narsis. Kemana2 pasti nyisiran mulu sambil bawa kaca.

KRIS: penyelidik. Kris itu cewe cantik banget (!), dan cukup berani dalam menyelidiki tugas. Cuman anaknya suka serampangan. Lagi menyelidiki suatu rmh, dia suka jatoh, kejepit, atau kekurung.

DAVE TANGO: penyelidik. Hihihi, gue suka ama ni cowo. Tampang skilas kalo dliat kaya Milo Ventimiglia, dan yg trmuda. Dia juga paling antusias kalo nyelidikin sesuatu, serta paling sering dkerjain. Dia juga yg paling loyal.

Gue biasanya ntn seri ini tiap Rabu malem di StarWorld atau bsa liat di Sci-Fi Channel. Tapi blakangan ini gue donlot episode2nya lengkap, jadinya ga ktinggalan. Mnurut gue seri ini cukup entertaining dan menghibur. Ga usa dpikirin soal hantu2annya, kadang mereka ada, kadang mereka ga ada. Anggep kaya WISATA KULINER utk hantu dmana mereka jalan2 ke kota2 dan melihat objek wisata yg ada hantunya.

Plastik Goreng

Ati2 buat org yg demen makan goreng2an apalagi di warung makan.... Dpt email negh, so cuman nyampein aja.  Bener apa enggak, ya....lbh baik brhati2.

Temenku punya pengalaman juga, waktu beli pecel lele di daerah Jakarta selatan, ternyata abangnya tidak menuangkan minyak goreng yang masih diplastik ke penggorengan. Tapi malah meletakkan minyak goreng yang masih dalam plastik ke
dalam penggorengan panas. Sehingga plastiknya meleleh larut dalam minyak panas, baru pecel lelenya digoreng dan hasilnya pecel lelenya crispy! (crispy= renyah) serem yaaaaaaaaaa....

Kepada semua Tolong baca ini. Ini adalah kisah nyata, dan seseorang juga menceritakan hal itu kepada saya, yang terjadi padanya di Kedah Tunjang. Saya kira itu juga terjadi pada kita juga.

Di PERLIS (area pasar malam, dimana mereka selalu menjual PISANG GORENG pada sore hari). Pamanku melihat mereka menggoreng PISANG GORENG, mereka menambahkan sedotan plastik ke dalam minyak goreng panas (sedotan=yang biasanya kita gunakan untuk minum), sedotan dilelehkan/dicairka n (melted) ke dalam minyak goreng panas sebelum menggoreng, itulah sebabnya PISANG GORENG, UBI GORENG, dll selalu tetap crispy=renyah selama beberapa jam. Pamanku tidak dapat menjelaskan kenapa. Kemudian dia bertanya kepada mereka, namun mereka tetap diam, kemudian pamanku mengatakannya pada ibuku, kemudian kami mempraktekkannya dan cara inilah yang membuat makanan tetap renyah. Kemudian ibuku berkata, hati-hati pada makanan Thailand juga, seperti ikan bilis, bawang goreng, meskipun kita meletakkan nya pada udara terbuka selama beberapa jam, makanan tetap renyah (tidak melempem).

Seperti di CANADA, hanya di tempat kami hujan turun selama 5 kali atau kurang dalam setahun, jadi bila kita meletakkan roti di udara terbuka selama semalam, keesokan harinya rati itu menjadi sangat renyah atau kering karena lingkungan disini sangat kering, tetapi di Malaysia, hal itu tidak akan terjadi karena disana kelembaban terlalu tinggi.

Saya pernah ke dataran tinggi Kamerun dengan keluarga saya, sekitar pukul 3 sore kami berjalan-jalan disekitar pasar, kami melihat banyak penjaja kios melakukan usaha mereka, tiba-tiba sesuatu menarik perhartian saya... di salah satu kios, ada sebuah wajan besar minyak goreng yang didalam nya ada botol plastik kosong (ukuran 5 1/2 liter), botol itu pelan-pelan mencair di minyak goreng yang panas dan saya terkejut. Saya kira itu suatu kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh anak kecil, tetapi ketika saya melihat lebih dekat, saya melihat ada beberapa sedotan plastik (chopstick) didalam botol plastik tersebut, segera meminta keluarga saya untuk datang dan memeriksanya, pada saat itu orang tua anak kecil tadi datang, mereka memandang kami dengan garang,... mereka menggunakan cairan plastik untuk menggoreng makanan, alasannya agar makanan yang digoreng tidak melempem.

Kami mempraktek kannya seperti ini, Minyak goreng tanpa plastik, makanan agak melempem setelah beberapa lama. Kemudian ditambahkan plastik, kemudian menggoreng lagi ... makanan menjadi renyah, lebih renyah dari KFC

Prequel Harry Potter

JK Rowling has written an 800-word prequel to the Harry Potter series which is likely to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity at auction.

The handwritten short story, featuring the fictional wizard's father James and his friend Sirius Black in their younger years, fills both sides of a piece of A5 card and is signed by the author. A 93-word teaser card carrying plot clues sold in 2002 for £26,680, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard, a book of fairytales which plays a central role in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, made £1.95m last year.

Rowling, who has earned £560m from the seven Potter books, is determined the latest instalment will not be developed further, writing at the end of the story: "From the prequel I am not working on - but that was fun!" Last year she said that if she did write another Potter tale it would not be for a decade.

The new work is among 13 storycards by authors including Margaret Atwood, Nick Hornby and Doris Lessing being auctioned to raise money for English Pen, which promotes understanding through literature, and Dyslexia Action at Waterstone's London Piccadilly store next month.

Copies of the What's Your Story? cards will be displayed in branches and online after the sale and will be published as a collection to be sold by the chain in August, with profits going to the charities.

Gerry Johnson, managing director of Waterstone's, said: "We never dreamed that JK Rowling would donate something so precious. I can't begin to guess how much it will raise at auction." The plot is a closely guarded secret, but Philip Errington, children's books specialist at Sotheby's, which is conducting the auction on June 10, revealed that Harry does not feature, although a policeman does.

Gue sama temen2 gue maen jet ski, berenang di laut, jalan2, dll.

Sayangnya, foto2 gue waktu ksana sbagian besar ada di laptop gue.

Duuuhhh... Ntar dehh, kalo laptopnya uda dbenerin gue pasti taro. Makanya gue seneng bgt pas ntn filmnya liat lokasi itu, langsung nostalgia gitu dehhh...

Oh yessss, puas banget gue nontonnya. NOBODY EXPECT SPANISH INQUISITION!!! Stelah garing bgt ga ntn film fantasy bagus kaya LOTR, akhirnya gue bsa dpt dari film ini. Dan ga tanggung2 banget, gue nontonnya sampe mengkeret en trkaget2. Biasanya jarang terjadi lho. Puas gue liat aktor2 muda yg ganteng2 en cantik2, puas liat aktingnya yg bener2 asoy, puas gue liat kostumnya yg bagus, puas gue liat jalan cerita yg padat, puas gue liat action yg oke, dan puas bahwa film ini bukan film anak2, mlainkan film PG13.

Hal2 yg ga memuaskan justru sdikit, spt endingnya yg trlalu.... apa yah? Trlalu aneh aja. Perangnya mungkin bsa sdikit lbh lama.

Tapi slebihnya gue ga komplain. Sekuel sharusnya emang kayak genehhh. Warning aja, jgn ntn sama anak2 kecil dehh. Banyak anak2 kecil di bioskop yg nangis ktakutan ntn film ini. Sama anak remaja juga jgn, soalnya banyak yg ketiwi2 liat pemerannya yg emang cakep2. Hehehe... Gue malah demen bgt sama musuh2nya, yg mirip conquistadors atau prajurit Spanyol. Perangnya mirip perang salib yg ada di film2 sejarah, dan ga trlalu fantasy. Makanya gue suka. King Miraz kejam bgt and badass.

24. High Fidelity – The screenwriter’s biggest problem when choosing the music for High Fidelity was deciding just where, and what, arrangements should go in the film. After listening to over 2,000 songs, writers eventually settled for songs by artists such as Bob Dylan, The Kinks and The Beta Band. The soundtrack that was eventually released to the public included just 15 of the 70 songs that actually made it into the 2000 film.

23. Goodfellas – Just like the Wiseguys in the movie, the soundtrack to Goodfellas is slick as hell. Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Dean Martin, Burt Bacharach and The Crystals provided the smooth, while The Rolling Stones, The Who and Sid Vicious (who performed his version of Frank Sinatra’s My Way) provided a bit of raucous energy.

22. Stand By Me – Based on Stephen King’s book ‘The Body’, Rob Reiner’s coming of age film took its name from the Ben E King song of the same title – a track that was synonymous with the film. Importantly the movie didn’t just rely on its signature tune to carry us through a rollercoaster of emotions; it also boasted classic 1950’s tracks by Jerry Lee Lewis, The Courdettes and Buddy Holly and more.

Jailhouse Rock – After the success of his acting lead ‘Loving You’, for which he sang on an accompanying album of the same name, Elvis Presley reprised the role of dual actor and soundtrack performer for 1957’s ‘Jailhouse Rock.’ Although a full album was never released, the five-track EP is regarded as a mini-masterpiece featuring such nuggets as the title track, ‘Don’t Leave Me Know’ and ‘I Want To Be Free.’

20. Forrest Gump - Like the film’s famous “box of chocolates” phrase, Forrest Gump’s soundtrack is a mixed selection, containing music by everyone from Elvis Presley to the Beach Boys. In a film that relies so heavily on the dialogue of Tom Hanks’ character, it’s perhaps easy to overlook the role that music plays in the film. That shouldn’t be the case, however; so next time you watch it, make sure you keep an ear out for just how clever the musical selection is.

19. Donnie Darko – From the opening credits soundtracked by Echo & The Bunnymen’s ‘Killing Moon’, Donnie Darko is packed with gloomy Eighties classics. We get Duran Duran’s ‘Notorious’, the Tears for Fears epic ‘Head Over Heals’ and Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ and a slew of other gems. However, it was Gary Jules who really profited from the soundtrack – his Tears for Fears cover ‘Mad World’ reached number 1 in the UK singles chart.

18. Lost In Translation – My Bloody Valentine, Death In Vegas, Kevin Shields, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Phoenix; you can’t exactly go wrong when you have a roster as strong as this. Just like her Dad Francis, Sofia Coppola knows that there can be more to a film than just actors, good shots and a great script – sometimes you need a damn fine soundtrack too.

 

17. Labyrinth - The soundtrack to 1986’s Labyrinth was a joint collaboration between David Bowie and orchestral composer Trevor Jones. As Jones scored the music, Bowie’s idiosyncratic voice matched George Lucas’s fantasy film, which followed a young girls bid to rescue her little brother from the Goblin King, seamlessly. A musical tour-de-force.

16. Trouble Man – What do you get when you draft in soul legend Marvin Gaye to do a soundtrack for your movie? The answer is simple; a gem of a record. Unlike the blaxploitation movie itself - about a tough detective who takes the law into his own hands - which was a commercial failure, Gaye’s soundtrack positively excelled and overshadowed the film it soundtracks. The title track ‘Trouble Man’, the film’s only song with lyrics on, was a top ten hit for Gaye.

15. Tommy - The first of The Who's two rock operas,Tommy was composed almost entirely by guitarist Pete Townshend. When it was released in 1969 many critics heralded it as the start of a new genre. We love it, not only because it was pioneering, but because the complex arrangements, constructed of everything from organs to guitars, compliment the films dark themes perfectly. While the soundtrack peaked at number two in the UK charts, it's the numerous inspirational spins offs it has inspired that show its true impact.

 

14. Saturday Night Fever - Few can deny the sheer brilliance of 1977’s Saturday Night Fever. The film’s place in history is sealed thanks to its soundtrack – which boasts songs by the Bee Gees, David Shire and Kool and the Kang. As Travolta waltzed and jived his way around the dancefloor, it was songs by these artists that gave him the groove. It’s no surprise that the soundtrack is the biggest selling of all time and has gone fifteen times platinum in the US alone.

 

13. Wild Style – There is no underestimating the importance of Wild Style and the soundtrack of the same name it spawned. Featuring the likes of Grandmaster Flash, The Cold Crush Brothers and the Rock Steady Crew, the self-released 1982 movie is regarded as the first hip hop motion picture and despite limited success at the time of its release, it has garnered a cult status. Many of the stars of the film – most notably The Cold Crush Brothers – contributed to the soundtrack.

 

12. Dancer In The Dark – Bjork played the lead role of Selma Jezkova, a Czech immigrant who came to Washington State in the 1960’s, who faces a series of tragic hurdles in this bleak yet poignant tale. Naturally, Bjork soundtrack-ed the album in the shape of the radiant album ‘Selmasongs’, which has sold over 200,000 copies in the States to date. The stunning song ‘I’ve Seen It All’ earned Bjork a well deserved Oscar nomination in 2000.

11. Easy Rider - There was only one type of music that could have suited Dennis Hopper and Terry Southern’s bike journey through the American southwest and deep south in Easy Rider: rock music. As the actors delve into the unknown, it’s songs like Jimi Hendrix’s ‘If 6 Was 9’ and classic like ‘The Weight’ that amplify the sheer scale of their journey. Thanks to the film’s phenomenal success, the official release of the soundtrack peaked at number six on the Billboard chart in 1969.

 

10. The Graduate - Released in 1968, the soundtrack to The Graduate – featuring a memorable performance from a young Dustin Hoffman - was produced by Teo Macero. One of the album’s standout tracks was Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Mrs Robinson’ – in fact Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel contributed eight of the 14 songs on the soundtrack.

9. Purple Rain - When the motion picture, based on the singer, was released in 1984 it was inevitable that the purple one would construct the soundtrack. Classed as Prince’s sixth album, the record opens with the formidable combination of ‘Let’s Go Crazy’, ‘Take Me With You’ and ‘The Beautiful Ones’. While the film took over $100million at the box office, the album has grown to become one of Prince’s greatest of all time. A rather useful combination.

 

8. Control – The Ian Curtis biopic naturally had a searing soundtrack. The Joy Division songs perfectly complemented the script – most notably ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ when Curtis’ relationship was breaking down with his wife Deborah. Yet, it’s not just the Joy Division tracks that earn Control such a high standing on the list, there’s also the likes of Bowie’s ‘Drive In Saturday’, Kraftwerk’s ‘Autobahn’ and The Killers’ cover of ‘Shadowplay.’

 

7. A Hard Day’s Night - One of the most influential films of the 60s, The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night is a cult classic both on screen and on LP. To this date the album is still the only Beatles record comprised entirely of McCartney and Lennon compositions. Featuring such favourites as ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ and ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’, like the film itself, it provides a fantastic snapshot of rock’n’roll life in the 60s.

 

6. The Wicker Man – Matching the eerie movie, the soundtrack to 1973 cult classic is rightly heralded as a classic. Composed by Paul Giovanni and Magnet, the folk songs have a primeval and sinister underbelly most notably ‘Sumer Is Icumen In’ sung in Middle English fervently by the islanders at the film’s climax. Yet it’s ‘Willow’s Song’ (mimed by Britt Ekeland) that perfectly captures the spirit of the film – a curious song that has been covered by a host of acts since.

 

5. Superfly – At around the same time Marvin Gaye was soundtracking Trouble Man, his contemporary Curtis Mayfield was drafted in for the movie Superfly. The resulting record of the same name was recently voted the 69th best album of all time by Rolling Stone magazine and is one of the rare examples of a soundtrack that out-grosses the movie that spawned it. Whereas the film is widely regarded as quite a naïve look at life in the gangster underworld, Mayfield’s vision was far more gritty and real.

4. Apocalypse Now – One of the greatest movies of all time has also got one of the greatest soundtracks. The Rolling Stones’ ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’ and The Beach Boys’ ‘Surfin Safari’ are two highpoints, yet it’s ‘The End’ by The Doors and Richard Wagner’s iconic ‘The Ride Of The Valkyries’ that echo the bleak plot perfectly. Once you’ve seen this movie you never listen to these songs in the same light again.

3. A Clockwork Orange – Scored and predominately written by Walter Carlos (who later became Wendy), the film merged classical music with moog synthesisers to devastating effect. The stark chimes of Carlos’ original music (most notably the haunting title music), Edward Elgar and Beethoven compositions and playful re-workings of classics add an unnerving edge to the ultra-violence and in-out, in-outs we experience throughout the film. Gene Kelly’s ‘Singing In The Rain’ is a notable addition too.

2. Pulp Fiction - Like the 1994 film, the soundtrack is certainly not conventional. As well as featuring a mix of American rock, pop and soul – including songs by Kool & The Gang and Dusty Springfield – it also included spoken exerts. As a result, the listener could truly experience Pulp Fiction in all its gory glory. While Boyd Rice was influential in selecting the films songs, it was Tarantino who interjected the dialogue to make the soundtrack feel like an audible extension of the film. Epic.

While both are brilliant, it’s the first one that we’re talking about. “Choose life…” Sure, we all know the words but without music Trainspotting would feel empty. Armed with dance classics as Underworld’s ‘Born Slippy’ and Leftfields ‘A Final Hit’ alongside Britpop tracks and classics from the likes of Iggy Pop and Lou Reed, it's a perfect soundtrack.

50. 8 Mile - It was inevitable that the soundtrack to Eminem’s movie debut would go down well with the record buying public. Debuting at number one on America’s Billboard, the soundtrack shifted 702,000 copies in its first week alone. Consisting of five songs that feature Eminem, including his massive smash ‘Lose Yourself’, it accompanied the film perfectly. The soundtrack has so far sold 9million copies around the world – proof that Em’s move onto the big screen was a lucrative step worth taking.

49. Juno – The surprise hit movie of 2007, also features a surprisingly brilliant soundtrack. Embellishing the story of a teenager suffering an unplanned pregnancy to a goofy loser are songs by The Velvet Underground, Sonic Youth, Mott The Hoople, The Kinks, Belle & Sebastien, Kimya Dawson and Buddy Holly. The original soundtrack was so received that a second one – ‘Juno B-Sides: Almost Adopted Songs – got a digital release in March 2008.

 

48. Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels – The ultimate cockney wideboy gangster film naturally featured an extremely laddish, fast-tempo soundtrack. Ocean Colour Scene’s greatest moment ‘Hundred Mile High City’ was the signature tune of an enviable collection of songs including a spattering of funk (James Brown), golden classics (Dusty Springfield) and plenty of cocky rock n’ roll (Iggy Pop).

47. The Wedding Singer - While you might expect the soundtrack to The Wedding Singer to be a load of goofy nonsense like the movie’s star Adam Sandler, it’s actually a fantastic record of some cult classics. From Culture Club’s ‘Do You Really Want To Hurt Me’ (ok, that’s quite goofy) to the pioneering ‘Blue Monday’ by New Order it has almost everything an MTV generation could hope for. We’ll ignore Sandler’s own ‘Somebody Kill Me’.

46. Rushmore - Originally director Wes Anderson wanted the soundtrack to Rushmore to feature songs entirely by The Kinks. When the movie was released in 1998, however, it featured just one Kinks song – ‘Nothin' in the World Can Stop Me Worryin' 'Bout That Girl’. As well as a number of compositions from Mark Mothersbaugh, the soundtrack included songs by The Who, John Lennon and Cat Stevens – all of which went perfectly with the story about eccentric teenager Max Fischer, played by Jason Schwartzman.

45. The Jackal - When you’re jumping off the seat while watching The Jackal, it’s due in part to the suspense-packed soundtrack. Songs like Primal Scream’s fantastic ‘Star’, Massive Attack’s ‘Superpredators’ and ‘Shining’ by Moby, all fit perfectly with Michael Caton- Jones’ film about the death of the young brother of a Russian gangster. It’s not a surprise to learn that a number of the songs were written with the film in mind.

44. One From The Heart – The 1982 musical directed by the legendary Francis Ford Coppola featured a completely original soundtrack written and performed by Tom Waits and Crystal Gayle. The film was a commercial flop grossing less than $1million from the US box office, despite costing $26million to make (amazing considering he made Apocalypse Now just three years earlier), however this didn’t stop Waits from notching up an Academy Award nomination.

 

43. Pump Up The Volume - Telling the story of a radio DJ, the film's music drew from a hugely diverse range of genres. As a result, the soundtrack is a truly captivating listen – featuring such songs as Bad Brains’ ‘Kick Out The Jams’ and ‘Everybody Knows’ by Concrete Blond. If there’s one criticism, then it’s with the producers, who chose to omit Leonard Cohen’s original version of ‘Everybody Knows’ which features so prominently in the movie.

42. American Graffiti - While the 1973 movie will always be regarded as the film that launched the career of producer George Lucas and the actors Harrison Ford and Richard Dreyfuss, it’s important not to overlook the soundtrack. Comprised of 41 songs from the film, it beautifully represents the period of time that the movie is set in. It features the classic Rock Around The Clock’ by Bill Haley and the Comets, as well as a song from the Beach Boys.

 

41. Kill Bill – Quentin Tarantino, the undisputed master of the movie soundtrack, came up trumps once again with both parts of Kill Bill. A perfect balance of songs to reflect the shifting scenes and moods of the films, the director picked classics by the likes of Nancy Sinatra, Johnny Cash and Isaac Hayes to appear alongside more traditional tracks (such as the panpipe classic The Good Shepherd) and even a song by cast member Lucy Liu.

 

40. Layer Cake - Before Daniel Craig transformed himself into the not-so-secret agent 007, he found himself in Layer Cake - a film about the drugs underworld. It’s another one of those films that has made our countdown because of the way the music seamlessly moulds itself to the story. From the way ‘You Got The Love’ by The Source soundtracks Sienna Miller’s courting dance to the elaborate use of The Cult’s ‘She Sells Sanctuary’ as Mr Craig drives to meet his mentor, this is a true classic.

39. Good Will Hunting – The soundtrack to the 1997 movie is dominated by songs by the late-great Elliott Smith, including some of the songsmith’s standout songs in the shape of ‘Between The Bars’ and ‘Miss Misery.’ Augmenting Smith’s songs are tracks like The Dandy Warhols’ ‘Boys Better’, Al Green’s ‘How Can You Mend A Broken Heart’ and The Waterboys’ ‘Fisherman Blues’, making for an enviable track-listing.

 

38. The Lost Boys – Composer Thomas Newman crafted the score to the fondly remembered teenager horror flick from 1987, a score that was augmented by a strong soundtrack. It features a number of rare cover version’s including Roger Daltrey’s take on Elton John’s ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’ and Echo & The Bunnymen’s version of The Doors classic ‘People Are Strange’ – the latter of which earns this soundtrack a place on the list alone.

 

37. Shaft - You don’t have to have seen the film to recognise the unforgettable voice of Isaac Hayes – who wrote the soundtrack to ‘Shaft’. The soul legend’s voice and sultry instrumental compositions help give the movie its timeless distinction. Although the entire soundtrack is a worthy listen, it’s Hayes’ ‘Theme From Shaft’ which drew the most acclaim, picking up awards for Best Engineered Recording, Non-Classical and Best Instrumental Arrangement.

 
34. Pat Garret and Billy The Kid - Rudy Wurlitzer approached Bob Dylan in 1972 about whether he'd like to contribute the music to Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid. The legend goes that Dylan decided to embark on the project because he had nothing else to do. It proved to be a good decision. Not only did the timeless singer-songwriter make a special appearance in the movie, but he also created a soundtrack that spawned one of his greatest and most memorable hits to date - 'Knockin On Heavens Door'.

35. Fight Club – Aside from the dark, brooding electronic soundscape that The Dust Brothers concocted, the real reason for Fight Club’s place on this list is the Pixies’ ‘Where Is My Mind.’ At the exact moment when Tyler Durden hits the detonator switch and the skyscrapers start collapsing, Kim Deal’s shrill vocals sound almost euphoric before the guitars kick in. It’s almost as if this song was written for the scene.

 

34. About A Boy – Fresh from scooping the Mercury Music Prize with his debut album ‘The Hour Of The Bewilderbeast’, Badly Drawn Boy (Damon Gough) was approached to make the soundtrack by the film’s directors Chris and Paul Weitz. Gough wrote and performed every single song for the movie which appeared on an album of the same name. The author of ‘About A Boy’, Nick Hornby, listed the Badly Drawn Boy track ‘A Minor Incident’ from the soundtrack as one of the songs that has changed his life. 

33. Wayne’s World - Like the film itself, the soundtrack to Wayne’s World was a huge hit in the charts. Not only did it top the Billboard Top-200 album chart, but it also propelled Queen’s ‘Boheminan Rhapsody’ – one of the songs from the film – to number two in the singles countdown almost 20 years after it was first released. Music is an irresistible presence throughout the movie as Mike Myers and Dana Carvey serve up one of the 90s most culturally impacting spectacles.

32. Moonwalker - A fantastic example of Michael Jackson's talent in the 80s. Not content with simply making music, he was determined to find new and elaborate ways to showcase it. The movie, which comprised of the singer's extended music videos, borrowed most of its songs from Jackson's 1987 album Bad. There was nothing bad about the film, however, which to this day shows why Jackson should still be regarded as one of the world's greatest entertainers of all time.

31. Blade Runner – Okay, we’re bending the rules a bit by including a score in our list, but Bladerunner’s score is so breathtakingly brilliant we just couldn’t bring ourselves to omit it. Like A Clockwork Orange, the Vangelis score melds classical arrangements with futuristic synthesisers to take us directly into the dystopian Los Angeles in 2019.

 

30. Reservoir Dogs - Director Quentin Tarantino crafted his familiar approach to soundtracks with Reservoir Dogs in 1992. As well as featuring the songs from the film, Tarantino chose to include actor’s dialogue on the official soundtrack. Most of the excerpts on the soundtrack come from the fictional radio station in the film, K-Billy's Super Sound of the Seventies, which is hosted by deadpan comedian Steven Wright. A fantastic reminder of an era-defining moment in cinematography.

 

29. The Virgin Suicides – Like all films that have a soundtrack crafted especially for the movie, The Virgin Suicide’s music, scored by French dance giants Air, was something pretty special. Spearheaded by ‘Playground Love’, which featured the vocals of Phoenix singer Thomas Mars, it’s a mesmerising listen.

28. That Summer! – Starring a relatively fresh-faced Ray Winstone, 1979’s That Summer! is widely perceived as a strange film that was bolstered heavily by its searing soundtrack. The Undertones’ ‘Teenage Kicks’, The Ramones’ ‘Rockaway Beach’, Elvis Costello’s ‘Watching The Detectives’ and Ian Dury’s ‘Sex & Drugs & Rock n Roll’ are just some of the zeitgeist defining songs on display.

 

 

27. Garden State – The Grammy Award winning soundtrack to 2004’s Garden State is the brainchild of director Zach Braff who wanted a collection of songs reflecting the time he wrote the screenplay. Featuring tracks from artists including Coldplay, The Shins, Simon & Garfunkel, Nick Drake, Iron & Wine and Zero 7, it’s a soundtrack worthy of all its plaudits.

26. Boogie Nights – The soundtrack to 1997’s Boogie Nights was so damn good, they decided to release another one a year later. Together they encompass almost every song that was included in the sleazetastic movie, from Melanie’s memorable ‘Brand New Key’ to Electric Light Orchestra’s ‘Livin Thing.’ Sadly for Heatwave, they refused the film makers to use their song ‘Boogie Nights’ as they were worried about the connotations of it being attached to a movie about pornography. Doh!

 

25. 2001: A Space Odyssey - Notorious for its minimal dialogue, Kubrick’s soundtrack is instrumental in establishing the mood and texture of the film. Originally destined to feature a soundtrack by composer Alex North, the film’s score eventually consisted of existing classical recordings selected by Kubrick. When asked why he had decided not to use North’s work, Kubrick said why should he use music that is “less good” compared to that of established names like Beethoven.
