Music in cinema is very important because they can invoke emotions on what the camera tries to capture. Which is why choosing the right composer to score the film takes a lot of time. When you watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows online, you will get to hear the music created by award-winning French composer Alexandre Desplat. Desplat has been nominated for three Academy Awards, four BAFTAs, and one Grammy. He has one a Golden Globe for scoring The Painted Veil. His other works include Girl With A Pearl Earring, The Queen, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Julie and Julia, fantastic Mr. Fox, and The Twilight Saga: New Moon. He recently won at the 10th Annual World Soundtrack Awards as Composer of the Year.
And now, Warner Bros. has unveiled the date for the release of the original motion picture soundtrack that can be heard while you watch Harry Potter 7 online. The album includes 26 original compositions by Desplat with over 70 minutes of music. It is scheduled to hit music stores this November 16, just three before the showing of the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Before Desplat, there have been other film composers involved in the Harry Potter series. Five-time Academy Award winner John Williams was the first to helm the score of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. He wrote the Hedwig’s Theme, which has been considered by many as the main theme of the movie franchise. He then went on to score the Chamber of Secrets and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Williams left at the fourth installment and was replaced by Patrick Doyle, who was previously nominated at the Oscars for Sense and Sensibility, and Hamlet. BAFTA winner Nicholas Hooper then stepped in on the Half-Blood Prince.
